Andy Amos

Bsc (Hons) Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Co-ordination and Risk Management

Retrofit Co-ordinator

Andy spent his early career as a design engineer working for a company specialising in signage for public transport and for health and safety apparatus for use in public buildings. He soon became a drawing office manager.

Following this role, he became a freelance designer working on construction projects around London in readiness for the 2012 Olympics.

Enjoying the construction industry and its use of energy efficient materials, this eventually led him to join a well-established Suffolk based domestic insulation company. In this role he had 15 years’ experience in the domestic and social housing sectors specialising in retrofitting energy efficiency measures into domestic dwellings. He was a key member of the assessment team dealing solely with the social housing market, identifying key energy related issues and assisting tenants in resolving them.

Being a qualified DEA and Retrofit Assessor, he mentored his fellow assessors in the use of retrofit software and in the surveying of properties that are suitable to receive retrofit measures.

He has a keen interest in the reduction of domestic energy usage and reducing the carbon footprint and tackling climate change.
